Linda Kay Gears, 65, of Millbury, Ohio passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. She was born in Toledo on June 29, 1947 to Maynard and Olive (Lenhart) Flory and was a 1965 graduate of Waite High School. She worked in the offices of Heck’s Printing and Mailing for 25 years and most recently was a greeter for Wal-Mart. Linda loved to do ceramics from start to finish. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading and playing games on her computer and kindle.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jeffrey L. Gears; sons, Jeff (Angie) and Mike Gears; grandchildren, Jarod and Jordyn Gears; sisters, Betty Pratt, Mary LaCourse and Joan Cook; nieces and nephews, Terry Perry, Kim Bodi, Carol Moates, Virgil LaCourse, Robert Pratt, Diana Honeywell and James Cook; great-nieces and nephews, Tiffany (Carl) Markowski and Josh Cook and neighbors, Tim and Linda DuVal. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son, William Gears.
Family and friends may visit from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013 in the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd., Oregon where the funeral service will begin at 10 a.m on Saturday. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
