Lillian Alice Petz, age 94, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Genoa Care Center. She was born on May 29, 1919 in Tiffin, Ohio to Ula and Ethel (Burns) Truby. Lillian attended Waite High School and worked as an executive dining assistant for Gladieux Catering and the Dana Corp. On August 8, 1970 she married Arthur Petz and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2008. Lillian was a former member of St. Vincent De Paul, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. John the Baptist Catholic Churches. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing card games and teaching her grandchildren how to play. But most of all she loved playing dominos and won her last two games she played on Sunday night.
Lillian is survived by her loving children: Rita Clark, Patricia Ziegler, Louis Villa and Rose Morton; daughter-in-law, Carol Villa, 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Nina Johnson, Betty Partin and Nora Lee Jeffries and stepson, James Petz. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arthur; son, Ralph Villa, Jr.; former husband, Ralph Villa Sr.; sister, Henrietta Gray; brothers, Dalton Truby, Norman Truby and Walter Truby; and stepdaughter, Joanne Balish.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Genoa Care Center.
