Lester J. Matthews, Jr.

Lester J. Matthews, Jr., 78, of Walbrige, Ohio passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg Center.  He was born on February 21, 1940 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Lester and Myrtle Matthews.  Lester served in the U.S. Navy.  He retired from the City of Toledo where he worked as a truck driver.

Lester is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Violet; granddaughter, Crystal Whitman, 2 grandsons; sister, Diane (Earl) Rodd and 3 nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Dianna Boley.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, March 22, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Lake Twp. Cemetery.
