Leonia Adeler, 78, former resident of Little Sister’s of the Poor passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Mercy St. Vincent’s Hospital. She was born on March 24, 1933 in Toledo, Ohio to Jules and Helen Henry. Lee retired from Superior Overall and served as the Union President for the Textile workers. She also worked as a sales clerk for Montgomery Ward. Lee was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where she helped start and was involved in the church bingo program.
Leonia is survived by her children: Walter (Donna) Adeler, Keith Adeler, Roberta Tyler, Blain Adeler and Ezzard Adeler; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and son-in-law, Jerry Tyler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, Gregory and sister, Joanne Kuchinski.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Erie West Hospice.
