Leonard J. Scheuer, 61, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at the Toledo Hospital on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. He was born August 27, 1952 in Toledo to Stanley and Genevieve (Szymczak) Scheuer and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He studied electronics at the University of Toledo and was a gifted woodworker who enjoyed building. He used his talents over the years of cabinet making and merchandising at various companies, including Lowe’s and Home Depot. He dabbled in many hobbies that included being a little league baseball umpire and a certified locksmith. Leonard was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, a Civil War history buff and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shelly Scheuer; children, Jennifer, Benjamin and Stephanie Scheuer and siblings, Mary Swanson, Donna (Thomas) Waggoner and John Scheuer. His parents preceded him in death.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 2-8 p.m. where the funeral service will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home Saturday evening. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made directly to the family.
