Leonard Howard Lafountaine

September 30, 1930 — July 27, 2014

Leonard Howard LaFountaine, 83, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Mercy-St. Vincent Hospital. He was born September 30, 1930 in Toledo to Howard E. and Iola (Benfer) LaFountaine. He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corp as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. Leonard was a Pipefitter for L.O.F. for over 30 years until retiring. In his retirement he owned and operated LaFountaine Pools and Bono Barns making wooden mailboxes. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, but his love was for trapping and had been published multiple times on the subject.

Leonard is survived by his loving wife, of 57 years, Sandra LaFountaine; son, Daniel (Kimberly) LaFountaine; grandchildren, Derek LaFountaine and Anna LaFountaine and brother Greg LaFountaine. His parents and son, Howard L. LaFountaine preceded him in death.

A celebration of Leonard’s life will take place on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 12 noon at Christ United Methodist Church, 5757 Starr Ave. in Oregon. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
