Leah H. (Russell) Jeffries

Leah H. Jeffries, 86, of Northwood, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on December 25, 1927 in Vinton, Ohio to Ernest and Bertha Russell, being one of 17 children.  Leah worked as a machine operator for Hunt Wesson Food for 14 years, retiring in 1976.   She also worked for Save Electric making light bulbs and at Oakdale Greenhouse for many years.  Leah was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary-Harry Pond Post #99 and the 8 et 40, Voiture 141.

She is survived by her daughters, Robin (Tom) Vogel and Ella (Bob) Bilger, grandchildren:  Laci Vogel, April (Shawn) Roe and Amber (Anthony) Tyson, great-grandchildren, Olivia, Evan, Emma, Aleah and Anthony Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Claude “Bob” Jeffries.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Monday, October 6, 2014 from 4-8 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday in the funeral home at 11 a.m.   Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Alzheimer’s Association.
