Kimberly Jo Weiss, precious child of her Heavenly Father and beloved daughter of Pastor Don and Carolyn Weiss was unexpectedly called to her heavenly home on June 16, 2012. Kim was born in Seward, Nebraska on August 16, 1964. Her early life was lived in Tipton, Indiana, and Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Kim became a graduate of Clay High School in 1982. She was employed as the head cook for over 20 years at The Gathering Place Christian Childcare Center in Oregon. She was a faithful member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Oregon where she taught Sunday School, attended Bible studies, sang in the choir and enjoyed fellowship of other believers in Jesus.
Kim enjoyed life! She was a people person who lovingly cared for others more than herself. She enjoyed Christian music, making her own greeting cards, giving gifts, watching hockey, playing Bunco with the gals, and especially spending time with family and friends.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her sister Kelli (Ron) Wells, brother Dan Weiss (and Darlene), three nieces, Alison Wells (fiancé Andy Laurell), Ashley Wells, and Samantha Weiss, as well as many good friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family invites you to attend a celebration of her life at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Friday, June 22, with visitation from 2 to 6 pm, followed by the Home-going Service at 6:30 pm. A light supper will be served following the service. In Lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are encouraged in Kim’s memory designated to Prince of Peace. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel.
