Kimberly V. Carter

Kimberly V. Carter, age 49, of Toledo, OH, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at home. He was born on September 22, 1973, in Toledo, OH to Kim and Carrie (Mayweather) Carter.

Kimberly, better known as “Grip” was very well known for all of his good deeds and HUGE heart. He loved his family and friends and will be remembered for always “putting his cape on” to help anyone in need at the drop of a dime and also for making friends everywhere he went (from babies to elderly, black, white or green). His smile was infectious and bright enough to light up any room that he walked in and he had jokes that could leave you in tears. He was a man of many trades and if there was something that he couldn’t do, he was going to learn how to do so. Grip was also a member of Bibleway Temple and volunteered at The Toledo Humane Society. He was one of a kind and will be dearly missed.  Hang your cape up and rest, we have it from here.  Live in the sky.

Kimberly leaves behind his parents, Kim Carter and Carrie Mayweather; siblings, Rachel Carter, Shaunta Carter, Jermaine Morehead, Jason Johns and John Carter; children, Tamika (John) Bermejo, Tanisha (Ryan) Russell, Markisha Russell, Carmen Bermejo, Camden Carter, Khaleb Carter, and Elysha Garcia; his grandchildren, Unique Jackson, Julian Schlageter, Nevaeh Galloway, Derek Jackson, Carmello Crosby, Jayden Cannon, and Jazzmyn Rader; mother of children, Connie Bermejo and Shannon Walker; and grandpups <3 GiGi, Chewy, Hopsie, Riot, and Diamond D; and many loved ones. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Amy Carter and John Carter; sister, Tammy Carter.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. and a last ride at 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Carmen Bermejo.
