Kathy Kay Venzke

Kathy Kay Venzke, age 62, of Walbridge, OH, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born in Walbridge, OH to Billy and Marjorie (Hartranft) Malone on February 16, 1962. She was a graduate of Lake High School and was a majorette and in the band. She married the love of her life, Mark D. Venzke, on March 20, 1981 and together they spent many happy years together. Kathy worked for many years at Gladieux Lumber and later at Genoa Bank creating lasting friendships along the way. She was a kind and generous woman that would help anyone and loved unconditionally. Kathy enjoyed family gatherings and celebrations and was known for her amazing taco salad. She also enjoyed watching “Big Brother,” “Survivor,” and any cooking show. Her children, grandchildren and great-grand-baby were her pride and joy.  They were always welcomed with open arms and her saying “Come see Nana!”

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Mark; her children, Laura Lynne, Mark Daniel Jr (Claire); her grandchildren, Daysia, Donavyn, Layla, Kaydence, Willow (due in November); her great-grandchildren, Malani, new baby due in March; her brother, Jeff (Deb) Malone, sister-in-law,  Gloria (Jay) Eenigenburg, sister-in-law, Lois (Mennis) Forth,  sister-in-law, Janet Venzke, and brother-in-law, Steve (Dawn) Venzke; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Randy Malone; and, nephew Marcus Malone.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel , 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the funeral service held at the funeral chapel on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
