Katherine N. Shull

Katherine “Kathy” Shull, 72, of Toledo, Ohio left this life way to soon on December 18, 2021.  She was born on July 18, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio to Lewis and Nancy Funk.  Kathy radiated a hospitable and loving energy to those around her and never hesitated to help family in need.  She worked as a nurse’s aide at Riverview for more than a half a decade.  Kathy spent a great amount of time and energy raising her grandchildren filling their hearts with warmth and the assurance of love, leaving them with fond memories and became a model of genuineness, generosity, selflessness, and compassion for them to look back on.  She had a good heart and soul and the most contagious laugh.  Kathy enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time with family, traveling, country music, reading and she always had a cup of coffee by her side.

Kathy is survived by her children, Annette Collins, Jodie Collins, and Tyler Shull; granddaughter, Angel Wing; and niece, Lisa (Bob) Garza.  She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Chad Wing; brother, Don Michaels, and Judith Melber.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from 2-4:00 p.m. where a memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m.  Memorial contributions can be made to Freck Funeral Chapel for expenses.
