Karen Hobson, 66, of Northwood, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at her home. She was born August 10, 1947 in Toledo, OH to Frank and Mary (Feyes) Danyi and married John Hobson on March 21, 1981. Karen received her associate degree in accounting from Stautzenberger College and started working as a Pricing Analyst for Owen-Illinois and retired in 2012. She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church where she was involved in various groups over the years. In her spare time, Karen enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, craft shows and time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Hobson; children, Stephen (Charlotte) Perlaky, Michael (Rebecca) Hobson and Heather Hobson; grandchildren, Aubrey, Averey and Zachary Perlaky; brothers, Robert (Carol) Feyes, Bruce (Maureen) Danyi and Chris (Kathy) Danyi. Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 2- 8 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, where the family will greet guests one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at Lake Twp Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be directed to the Susan G. Komen foundation.
