JULIUS A. BUFFY
Julius A. Buffy, 73, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Julius is now in heaven making sure that everything is in its place. He was born in Toledo on August 30, 1940 to Julius J. and Olimbia (Tiberio) Buffy and was a 1958 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He married Marlene M. Slivinski on September 2, 1961, and together they raised four daughters. He retired from Columbia Gas Company after 33 years of service. Julius enjoyed spending time with family especially summer days around his pool and having cookouts. He enjoyed working in the yard and doing projects around the house. Julius loved going to casinos with good friend John, who helped him lose his money. He also enjoyed having breakfast with friends. Julius was a 13 year member of the Gas Company retirement golf league.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene Buffy; daughters, Christine (Tom) Andreoli, Julie (Dominic) Pinciotti, Patty (Scott) Schoepf and Mary Beth Kirsten; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson and sister, Josephine (Richard) McKnight. Julius was preceded in death by his parents. To his grandchildren he will forever be remembered as Grandpa Governor.
Family and friends will be received from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2014, in the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Road, Oregon, Ohio where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Jerome Catholic Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo Hearing and Speech Center, or Cardinal Stritch High School.
