Josephine M. (Jojo) Kohler

June 14, 1963 — April 5, 2024

Josephine "Jojo" Kohler, Age 60 of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on April 5, 2024, surrounded in love by her family and friends. Jojo was born in Toledo, Ohio to Antonio and Rose Manera on June 14, 1963. She was a 1981 graduate of Morrison R. Waite High School. Jojo spent most of her adult life working as a clerk in the deli and produce departments at local stores where customers quickly grew to love and adore her. Some would comment “I heard you before I even saw you.” She loved spending time with her family and never missed an event where they could all be together. When her daughters were younger, she coached them in many different activities. She was the go-to mom for carpooling everyone around. She was affectionately nicknamed “Mama Jojo” to many of her daughters’ friends and stayed that way well into their adulthood. She was a dedicated Grandmother to her boys, never missing an important event or a chance to be there for them. Jojo extended the love and caring she had for her family and friends to her daughter’s friends as well. She became a second mom to them all and someone who was there for them no matter what. To know her was to love her.

Jojo is survived by her daughters Crissy and Dana Kohler; stepdaughter Deana Kohler; their father Danny Kohler; grandsons Brandon Hymore, Logan Houle, Cohen Scharer, and Chase Boyd; granddaughter Jessica (Tyler) Bol; granddogs Gryffindor, Winifred, and Merlin; and great-granddaughters Charlotte, Elouise, and Courtland Bol. She is also survived by her siblings, Sue (Art) Jankowski, Mary Ward, and Paul Manera as well as many nieces, nephews, and all of her "kids". Jojo was preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Rose Manera, her father-in-law Henry Kohler, her sister Nancy Manera, and her loving niece Michelle Ward.

Visitation will be on Thursday April 11, 2024, from 2-7 p.m. at Freck Funeral Chapel in Oregon, Ohio. A memorial hour and time of sharing will begin at 6 p.m.

The family of Jojo wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at St. Vincent's Medical Center, especially the Nursing Staff on the Medical ICU floor and Life Connection of Ohio for their help and grace during the gift of donation process, as well as the Toledo EMS.
