Joseph Theodore Racz of Walbridge, OH, passed away on September 10, 2015 at the age of 69. He was born on March, 21, 1946 to Charles and Margaret Racz, the youngest of four children. He graduated from Clay High School in 1964, and went on to serve in the National Guard as a member of the 555th unit (the "Triple Nickel"). He was also a talented saxophonist, playing in various circuits in the area, including Bob Zielinski and the Kingsmen, as well as with Ron Anthony. In 1969, he married Linda Grzechowiak and had four children, Joseph Kenneth, Dawn, David, and Ashley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margaret, and granddaughter Bridgette Ann Racz. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and partner of twenty years, Janice Kollarik, brothers Charles (Carmela), John (Fran), and Edward, his four children, grandchildren Brittany, Alex, Austin, Blake, Keira, and Zach, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is very much loved and will truly be missed.
Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Monday, September 14, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cherry St. Mission, Martin Luther Lutheran Church or Ronald McDonald House.
