Joseph Michael Pryke age 79, of Oregon, passed away at Bay Park Community Hospital after a brief illness. Joseph was born to Charles and Elizabeth (Dunkel) Pryke on January 29, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in 1968 and served in the Fifth Infantry before being assigned to the Big Red One Charlie Company. After serving our country, Joseph returned home and worked for 15 years as a commercial fisherman, 12 years as a Machinist with Curtice Machine, and over 10 years in a Bakery before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his family camping and fishing.
Joseph is survived by his sons, Aaron Pryke and Paul Pryke; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Gene Floriana, brother Jerry Pryke, infant son Joseph Jr., and the mother of his children and wife Irene Pryke.
A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon, OH on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 2 until 6 p.m. A funeral service with Military Honors will begin at 6 p.m.
