Joseph Frederick Boyd Sr.

Joseph Boyd Sr. age 88 passed away on Saturday May 14, 2022 at Ebeid Hospice Residence. Joe was born to Joseph Francis Boyd and Iva Staler on September 16, 1933 in Toledo, Ohio. He worked as a Longshoreman at the Toledo Overseas Terminal until retirement. Joe also raised and bred American Bulldogs with his wife Janet, who preceded him in death in 2019. They travelled to dog shows together and really loved their bulldogs. Joe was also a mechanic and enjoyed hanging out in the garage with his boys. He will be remembered as a hard worker.

Joe is survived by his children Joseph Frederick Boyd Jr., Anthony Warren (Teresa Dickerson) Wheatley Sr, and Toni Jo Boyd; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren; and sisters Rose and Sara. He was preceded in death by his wife Janet; sons Eric, Bryan, and John Boyd; daughter-in-law Jennifer Boyd; and siblings Steve, Violet, Iva, and Glen.

Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon, Ohio Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 3 until 5 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the family.
