Jon F. Parton age 86, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on June 22, 2022 at Wood County Hospital. Jon was born to John A. and Vera (Scharnhorst) Parton on January 21, 1936 in Quincy, Ill. He was part of the Clay High School Class of 1954 and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army. Jon retired as a millwright from L.O.F. and after retirement worked as a truck driver for several companies including his own, TJ Trucking Co. As a 32nd degree Mason, Jon was a member of Northern Light Lodge #40 F& AM, past master Sanford L. Collins #396 F& AM, past high priest Fort Meigs #29 RAM, past thrice illustrious master Toledo Council #33 R&SM, Toledo Commandry #7 Knights Templar, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Meritorious Service Award 1991, Grand Cross of Color, Zenobia Shrine #79 Ancient Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine, Dramatic Cast Unit, Corvair Unit, and Drum and Bugle Corp, Equity Chapter Knights of Constantine, and Christ Dunberger American Legion Post #537.
He was also active on amateur radio his last held license being K6JON and member of American Radio Relay League, Radio Society Great Britain, Western Illinois Radio Club, Toledo Mobile Radio Association, Greater Toledo Amateur Radio Club, and the Australia Radio Society.
He was survived by his daughters Tori (Jon) Sielken and their children Bill (Melissa) Stuart, Leslie (Jonathan) Mallory, Jeremy Sielken, and Justin Sielken; Joni Henderson and her children JoDee Henderson, Fred Diebert, Adam Diebert and Jon Jon Henderson; Vera Parton and Randi Parton; great-grandchildren Henry, Scarlett, Nathan and Nora; and former wife Marcia Parton. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons Jon R and Terence; brother Reid; twin brother Jim; and former wife Dolores Parton.
Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel on Monday June 27, 2022 from 5 until 9 p.m. A Masonic Service will be held at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday June 28, 2022 at 12 noon Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are appreciated to St. Mark Lutheran Church or Shriners Children’s Organization.
