John Michael Zimmerman

John Zimmerman, age 61, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023 at home surrounded by family.  He was born on May 12, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan to Franklin and Joann Zimmerman.  John was a truck driver for most of his life.  His first and only license was a CDL which he obtained at age 14.  He retired in 2021 from FASTRACK Trucking, after ten years of service.

John had a witty personality, who was loved by everyone.  He was known as a “jack of all trades” type of handyman.  John loved spending time on his boats, going fishing, and searching for a deal at auctions.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and papaw.  He will be dearly missed by his family.

John is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cindy Zimmerman; daughters, Angela (Nathan) Zimmerman, and Ashley (Kyle) McClanahan; grandchildren, Charles, Harper, Haven, Landon, Grayson, and Colton; his sister, Donna (Steve) Hamilton and extended family members.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 2-8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.  Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
