John E. Tingley, 70, of Rocky Ridge, Ohio, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016 at his son’s home in Ottawa Hills. He was born November 18, 1945 in Toledo to John W. and June (Carr) Tingley and served our country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. John began his career as a factory worker with Goodyear, retiring with Motor Wheel after 35 years of service. He was a gifted mechanic who loved tinkering in his garage, repairing motorcycles.
He is survived by his children, Kevin Harrison, Johna Lynn Tingley and John (Delaine and Angela Thomas) Tingley; grandchildren, James Thomas III, Jessica Bialecki, Jeffrey Bugert II, Megan Tingley, Jeana Tingley, Nathaniel Osborn and Colin Osborn; great-grandsons, Michael Bialecki III and Alexzander Bialecki and siblings, James (Debbie), Jerry (Linda), June (Reggie) Blackman, Jeffery (Gay), Melvin (Hildie), Violet (Ralph) White, Royan (Dave) Kaylor, Elvira Talmadge (Allen Hartenstein ), Iona (Randy) Shammo along with many dear nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Janelle Tingley; great-granddaughter, Makayla Bialecki and sister, Joy Tingley.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 2:30-8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at First St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
