John Wesley Spears

John Wesley Spears, age 86, of Toledo, OH, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 surrounded by his family. John was born in Jackson, LA to Homer and Levade (Ricks) Spears on March 24, 1937. John served his country in the US Army and later worked as a machine operator. His greatest joy in life was his family. John deeply loved his family and was their devoted patriarch and the strength that held them together. John lived a full life and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is survived by his children, Evelyn (Keith), Laura (Mark), Jeffrey (Diane), Shawna; his grandchildren, Casey, Courtney, and Sarah; and his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his granddaughter, Jaime.

John will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel, Oregon, OH.
