John Robie

August 3, 1962 — June 13, 2023

Waterville, Ohio

John Robie, age 60, of Toledo, OH passed away on June 13, 2023, surrounded by his family at University of Toledo Medical Center due to a brain injury.

John was born to Norman and Carolyn (Flaczynski) Robie on August 3, 1962, in Toledo, OH.  He attended St. Johns Jesuit, where he graduated from in 1980.

John's love of music was known to all, and his passion was carried out behind the DJ booth at Renee's for several years.  He then decided to become self-employed as a carpet installer, where his personality shined through.  His wonderful smile and contagious laughter, attracted people to him, but it was his beautiful heart that touched the lives of so many people.

John was an avid sports fan.  You would always find him watching ESPN or reading about his favorite sports teams.  His love for the Dallas Cowboys was known by all, especially when you heard him yell "How 'Bout them Cowboys!!"

John loved the outdoors and soaking up the sun with the beach being one of his favorite places to be.

John married Wendy (Avery) Robie in 2002, in Toledo, Ohio.  Together, they have three children, Hannah, Haley, and Noah.  His greatest love was his children, who he loved unconditionally.  He always was the first to volunteer as a coach for his children's sports teams.  Coaching brought him great joy, and he impacted many children as well as parents, with his positive attitude and charisma.

Along his journey, he turned his heart over to the Lord and became a Christian.  He enjoyed volunteering as a drummer at Northpoint Church.

John passed as a hero in the eyes of many.  He took the honor walk at the University of Toledo Medical Center halls and fulfilled his commitment as an organ donor where he assisted in saving a life.

John was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by many, but his witty sayings will be carried on by his loved ones to help keep his upbeat spirit alive.

John is survived by his daughters, Hannah and Haley, and his son, Noah; he is also survived by his brother, Greg (Deann); sisters, Robin (Tim), and Jennifer (Bob); his significant other, Laurie; the mother of his children, Wendy; and his nieces and nephews.
