John W. Nolan

February 23, 1944 — April 30, 2016

John W. Nolan, age 72, passed peacefully in his home on April 30, 2016.  He was born in Louisa, KY on February 23, 1944 to June and Edith (Napier) Nolan.  John served in the U.S. Air Force, as a Sergeant, during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Commercial Artist for the Academy of Arts Studio until retiring. John enjoyed bringing art into the world and truly left his mark on it. He will be dearly missed.

John is survived by his children, Deannah (Jeff) King, Stacey (Rick) Mohr and Aaron (Ann) Nolan; grandchildren, Brittany (Kyle), Andrea, Megan, Joshua, Matthew, Evan, Samantha and Carson; great-grandson, Maverick; brother, Donald Smith and many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by parents; wife, Roberta Nolan and brother, Clarence Smith.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 2-8 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Friday in the funeral home at 10 a.m.   Burial will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
