John "Jack" Heninger

November 22, 1924 — June 10, 2017

John “Jack” Heninger, 92, of Oregon, Ohio beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017.  He was born in Oregon on November 22, 1924.  Jack graduated from Clay High School where he excelled in baseball and left us with the story of a crushing homerun in Blissfield, Michigan where the ball smashed a “brand new” 1940 vintage car’s windshield as the ball soared over the fence.  He married the love of his life, Grace E. Houser and was married for sixty-six years until her passing in 2013.  They raised seven children. Jack was a dedicated family man, avid fisherman, hunter and gardener.  He enjoyed cooking, playing Euchre, and watching baseball with family.  His memorable times include fishing trips to Canada, Lake Ontario and Lake Erie and hunting near Walbridge.  He worked 43 years at L.O.F. and was a member of Harbor View Yacht Club and the Swiss Club.  Jack will be remembered for his countless fish fries, love and devotion to his family, and his work ethic.

He leaves to honor his family, Sharon (Tim) Johnson, Karen (John) Rowley, Joann Heninger, John (Kelly) Heninger, Jim (Pam) Heninger, Bob (Anne) Heninger, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Jack was preceded in death by his wife, (Grace); son, (Billy); parents (William and Doris); siblings (Bill and Margie).
