JOHN J. GREL
John J. Grel, 69, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at his home. He was born on November 30, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Dorothy (Anderson) Grel and was a 1963 graduate of Waite High School. From a very young age, John developed a hard work ethic and held various jobs throughout his life. He worked on Lake Freighters on the Great Lakes, was a production worker for the Sight Center and worked most recently with Fairview Nursing Home. John was a former member of the East Toledo Lions Club, enjoyed boating, playing chess and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
John is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Carol; son Eric (Jodi) Grel and his grandchildren, Evan, Charlie and Isaiah. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
