John E. Gardull

John E. Gardull, 88, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Bay Park Hospital. He was born in Toledo, OH on October 22, 1925 to Frank and Betty (McCavitt) Gardull and married Bernice Mariea, sharing 66 years together. John worked for LOF his senior year of high school and was drafted in to the US Army during WWII, serving in the 4th Infantry Division.   After his discharge, he returned to LOF, as a Supervisor until retiring in 1978. His passion for competitive shooting and historical reenacting was second only to his family. John also enjoyed hunting, traveling, woodworking and could fix just about anything.

He is survived by his loving wife Bernice; children Thomas Gardull, Jacqueline (Mark) Lindner, Patrick (Donna) Gardull, Frank (Mandy) Gardull, Anthony Gardull and Siegrid (Ingo) Hobein and family in Germany; grandchildren, John Gardull, Marie Cortez, Brandon (Nicole) Gardull, Anthony Gardull Jr., Cayce Lindner, Carly Gardull and Samantha Gardull; great-grandchildren, Breana “little Annie,” Chase, Giovanni, Sean and Dominic Gardull; brother, James (Patricia) Gardull. John was preceded in death by his parents, and son Peter Gardull.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 for the Memorial Service at 1 p.m.   Burial will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to donor’s choice.
