Surrounded by family, Joann Louise LaChine passed away on February 13, 2012.  She joins the love of her life, William LaChine Sr. (Bill) and her cherished son William LaChine, Jr. (Marlene LaChine)  Both predeceased her in 2001.  Joann is predeceased by a brother and two sisters, and survived by her sister, Nancy Pack.  Joann was a devoted and caring mother to her family, which includes Linda Hoose (Dale), Brenda Dey (Keith), Regina LaChine (Larry Alfrey), and Leigh LaChine (Kathy Burleson- LaChine).  Joann was delighted to be the grandmother of Michelle Loch (Scott), Lonnie LaChine, Kenneth Hoose (Sarah McCallum-Hoose), Kathryn Pritchard (William), Stephanie Dey, and Christine Dey.  Joann was pleased to be the great- grandmother of Lonnie LaChine, Jr., Lacey LaChine, and Gavin Hoose.  Joann will be greatly missed by her family of friends, and she was often simply called Mom or Grandma.
Joann led an active and eventful life.  She was born in Maumee, Ohio, the daughter of Aloysius and Alma Domitio, on June 5, 1929.  She lived in Toledo and then Walbridge, Ohio for 68 years.  In 1997 she and her husband retired to Wilson, North Carolina.  She was a member of Calvary Lutheran church in Millbury, Ohio, and later Ascension Lutheran church in Wilson, North Carolina.   A year ago she moved to a retirement home in Tarboro, North Carolina, The Fountains at the Albemarle.  Joann  worked as a nursing assistant in newborn nursery at St. Charles hospital in Oregon, Ohio, and later as a postal clerk for the US Postal Service in Toledo, Ohio.  She was always ready with a smile and an amusing story, and collected friends everywhere she went.
Funeral arrangements are as follows:  Visitation at Ascension Lutheran Church in Wilson, North Carolina on Wednesday, February 15 from 2- 4 pm.  There will be a brief service at 4 pm, followed by a light luncheon.  Visitation in Ohio will take place on Friday, February 17, from 2-4 and 6-8:30 pm. at the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon.  Her funeral will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church in Millbury, Ohio on Saturday, February 18 at 11 am.  Burial will follow the service at Lake Township Cemetery in Ohio.
