Jimmy Rutherford, 65, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. He was born on December 8, 1949 to Joyce Kimberly and Thomas Jacob Rutherford. Jimmy was a decorated Marine serving proudly and admirably during the Vietnam War. He was passionate about God, his family, his country and the Israeli Cause. He enjoyed reading, teaching the gospel, Marital Arts, watching westerns and science fiction. He spent his life lifting up his friends and family with his wit, love and humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jimmy and brothers, Tommy and Steven. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Sandra; children, Heidi, Jimmy, Lorena (Cliff) and Brandon; stepchildren, Michael (Heather) and Brian (Melissa); siblings, Gary, Mike, Diane and Sharon; and 10 grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 after 9 a.m. with the Funeral Service to begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
