Jeryl Jon Kersey

August 22, 1936 — December 24, 2021

Jeryl "Chub" Kersey, 85, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.  He was born on August 22, 1936 in Wilburton, Oklahoma to Archie and Myrtis Kersey.  Jeryl attended Waite High School before serving in the U.S. Army.  He was very intelligent and good with numbers and went back to graduate from Waite High School following his time in the Army.  Jeryl worked for L.O.F. as a glass worker and later became supervisor, retiring after 35 years of service.  He also worked as a parts manager for Toledo RV and All American Coach.  He was a very competitive person, in his younger years; he enjoyed running 10k races, playing basketball and drag racing.  Jeryl was also an Ohio State Buckeye fan.  During retirement he enjoyed RV traveling and going camping.  Of all the cats they’ve had, Blackie was the only cat he really liked.  He will be dearly missed.

Jeryl is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nancy Kersey; children, Pamela (Tom Scanlon) Kersey, Sandi Lafferty, Richard (Pamela) Kersey, Randal (Diane) Kersey, and Paula Kersey; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Moore, and Cheryl (Gene) Shurtz and sister-in-law, Patricia Kersey.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Kersey; grandsons, Ryan and Jacob Kersey; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Moore.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 9-11:00 a.m. where services will be held at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
