Jerry Douglas Ryan

Jerry Douglas Ryan, 68, of Oregon, OH, formerly of Genoa, OH, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021.  He was born in Columbus, OH on February 21, 1953 to Hubert and Madge (McClure) Ryan. Jerry was a graduate of Clay High School and went on to work for many years as a machinist and welder at the CSX Docks.  Jerry was an NRA member and enjoyed time outdoors.  He loved trains and was fascinated with the mechanics of steam locomotives, taking many steam engine trips with his sister, Diana, and exploring the railways.  Jerry enjoyed learning about the steam engines and sharing his knowledge and mechanical abilities.

Jerry leaves behind his sisters, Diana Goulden and Joyce Garner; his nephew, John Ryan (Katie) Goulden; and his great-nephew, Ian Goulden.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, John Goulden.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Jerry will be laid to rest at Clay Township Cemetery with a private burial service.  Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Bible Baptist Missions, Pensacola, FL.
