Jerry McGregor Cope, 86, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on February 26, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born in St. Clairsville, Ohio on November 8, 1929 to Harold and Eleanor Cope. Jerry opened and owned Home Fabrics Center upon moving to Oregon, Ohio in the 1960s. After closing the store, he was self-employed as a drapery installer under the name JayCee Installations until he retired.
He is survived by his loving wife Amelia (DeLuca) Cope, his sons, Ralph (Leisa) Cope and Dave Cope; his three grandchildren, Sarah Granato, Noah (Alyssa) Cope and Caitlin (Tommy) Menden; two great-grandchildren, Baiden and Lia Menden; two sisters, Joanne and Betty and three brothers, Tom, Dick and Dave. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Eleanor; sister, Jean and two brothers, Bill and Jim.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 12 noon where the family will receive guests after 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Jerry’s memory.
