JEROME  DOUGLAS  DITMYER, SR.

Jerome D. Ditmyer, Sr., 73, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born in Toledo on October 10, 1939 to Jerome S. and Eleanor (Lynch) Ditmyer and was a graduate of DeVilbis High School.

Jerome served our country for 23 years first in the U.S. Marines and then continued his service in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve retiring as First Sergeant in 1985. He was very active in the Lou Diamond Marine Corp League and the Young Marines. He retired in 1994 from Chrysler Jeep where he worked as a Mechanic for 35 years and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. He was active in the Toys for Tots Campaign and in his spare time enjoyed working on bicycles. He was a man of great character and kept his life focus as God, Marines and Family.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Sandra (Kummerow) Ditmyer; children, Jerome (Debbie), Kimberly Watson, Duane (Shelly), Ronald (Marti) and Dawn (Dean) Miller; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Ditmyer; brother-in-law, Arnold A. Kummerow, PhD., and sister-in-law, Marianne (David) D’Aquila along with many nieces, nephews and their families. Jerome was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Angel and sister-in-law, Constance Kummerow.  “We will miss you Papa” – Zach and Jered.
