Jeffrey Thomas Cleary

Jeffrey Thomas Cleary age 83 of Williston, Ohio passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Jeffrey was born to Jeffrey and Jane (McDowell) Cleary on October 20, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio. Jeffrey was a 1957 graduate of Macomber High School and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked as a Journeyman layout inspector for City Auto and Acklin Stamping. Jeffrey served as a firefighter and EMT in the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District for over 55 years. His greatest joys were spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and working in his yard. This kind and gentle man will be greatly missed by his family.

Jeffrey is survived by his children Kristine (Ed Hopfinger) Cleary, Karen (Pedro) Soto, Kathleen (Matthew) Tylicki, and Jeffrey Thomas Cleary Jr.; grandchildren Meghan (Jake), Morgan (Joseph), Nick, Matthew, Aaron, and Julia; great-grandchildren Mason, Arya, Stiles, Jase, and Louis; siblings Mary Ickes, Terry (Mariana) Cleary, Jane (Robert) Kowalski, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Dianne Cleary in 2012 a few days shy of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon, Ohio on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 2 until 8 p.m. where a Firefighter Service will be held at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church 1105 Elliston Rd. Martin, Ohio 43445 on Friday, March 4th at 10:30 a.m. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass. Burial will follow in Allen Township Williston Cemetery. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
