Jeannette Ruth Carlo

Jeannette Ruth Carlo passed away quietly early Saturday morning October 1, at her home with her children gathered at her side.  She was 95 years old, born October 26, 1926. Jeannette devoted her life to her family; raising her children and keeping her home. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she attended school through 8th grade and later married her husband Anthony on April 14, 1951. In her early years, she enjoyed riding her horse and fishing along the Maumee River. As a teenager, she worked in the airplane factory at Jeep. Jeannette and Anthony met at the outdoor roller rink at Pearson Park. Together they ran their first farm located off Hill Ave. before moving out to Oregon Township where they continued to farm together. They were married 62 years before his passing in 2013. Throughout her life, Jeannette was known to have a green thumb and loved her indoor plants and garden.

She is survived by her five children: Michael and his wife Aruna, Carol and her husband Jeff Felderman, Vicky and her husband Steve Krout, Kelley and her husband Allen Allred, and Anthony Jr. and his wife Angel.  She leaves eight grandchildren Gregory (Sarah) Carlo, Amanda Carlo, Allen III (Emily) Allred, Stephanie (Doug) Morrison, Christine Carlo, Rex Carlo, Gino Carlo, and Catrina Carlo; great-grandchildren Dominic, Zachary, Jonathan, Jace, Logan, Sophie, Coen, Adalie, and Charli; great great-grandchild Xander; brother William Zahs; and sisters-in-law Mary Parker and Ruth Carlo. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Anthony Sr., 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, October 5th from 4:00-8:00.  Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 7 at 11:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Buckeye & Erie St where family will welcome guests beginning at 10:00 am.  She will be cremated and buried with her husband at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park in Toledo.  Memorial contributions can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
