Jeanne Wheeler, 81, passed away in her Oregon, Oh. home surrounded by her daughters. She was born January 11, 1930 to Raymond and Doris (Keyes) Cadaret in Toledo, Oh. After graduating from Waite High School in 1948, she married John (Windy) Wheeler who later became an art teacher at Waite High School for many years and together they raised 3 daughters. Jeanne worked for Elder-Beerman for many years. An avid Detroit Tigers fan, never missed a game. She enjoyed bowling with the Oregon Octets and was active at the YMCA. Two of her favorite vacation spots were Florida and Las Vegas. Her greatest treasures were her grandchildren, who she supported in their many activities.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her loving husband, John; her parents; granddaughter, Robin Shanks; brother-in-law, John Phipps and dear friends, August Martin and Florence Rhodes. Jeanne will be greatly missed by daughters, Susan Surprise (Mark), Nancy Wheeler (David Bishop) and Terri Wheeler (Mark Szymczak); grandchildren, Shawna Surprise, Heidi Humes, Adrienne (Jason) Pogrmich, Mickey (Stephanie), Andy, Lesley and Wendy Shanks, Ian, Monika and Luke Appelhans and 5 great-grandchildren; loving sisters, Miriam Phipps and Karen (Tom) Jennings. Jeanne was blessed with many nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends.
Family will accept visitors on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 2-7 p.m. at Freck Funeral Chapel Wynn at Pickle Rd. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. There will be no graveside service.
