Jean M. (Laplante) Rossler

May 5, 1938 — December 27, 2022

Jean Marie (LaPlante) Rossler 84 of Oregon Ohio passed away peacefully on Dec. 27, 2022.  Born to James and Ruth LaPlante on May 5, 1938, she married Kenneth Rossler on June 21, 1958, and is survived by her twin sister Joan (Humphrey), sisters Joyce (Carnovale), Jane (Mike) Gerrier and brothers Jim, Joe (Nadine) and John (Cheryl) and many nieces and nephews. She was a 1956 graduate of Central Catholic High School upon completion and due to a shortage of teachers she received a teaching certificate.  While attending summer school, raising her six children and continuing to teach at her elementary school at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic school she earned a degree in education from Toledo’s Mary Manse College in 1975. Jean retired after 30 years of service.

Jean led a full life as loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and educator of countless young students. Long after retiring she would still occasionally encounter former students. Hearing their stories and knowing she had made a difference was an immeasurable reward as an educator.  Her many interests included crafts, quilting, volkswalking, cooking, boating, and camping where, after many years of enjoying the outdoors with her family and friends, she volunteered as a camp host at Maumee Bay State Park. Among her various interests, time spent with her children, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family were her most treasured times.

Jean was the most unassuming person one could meet, with a silent strength and determination like no other, as demonstrated throughout her life, and during her extended health struggle. She has always been a model of caring and kindness, something she felt the world needs more of now than ever. She would love nothing more than if we would all strive to carry on in a similar manner. Please consider acts of kindness in her memory so her contribution is not lost but rather amplified.

Jean is preceded in death by husband Kenneth and son Paul and is survived by children; David (Marcia), Pamela, Donna, Kenneth Jr. (Betsy) and Gregory (Debbie); grandchildren: David, Katelyn (Josh) Behnke, Anna (Andy) Brandt, Rachel (Nathan) Bush, Courtney, Ben, Madeline Rossler, Jamie (Ben) Hodges, Laura (Doug) Pyle, Nicholas, Noah Rossler; Great Grandchildren, Eden, Nolan Bush, Carson, Jack, Ella Behnke, Abigail, Aaron, Aliana Brandt, Lincoln Hodges, and Weston Pyle.
