Jason Michael Burgess, 51, passed away in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his children, partner, and dog under the care of hospice. He was born on September 5, 1973 in Toledo, Ohio to Michael Glenn and Pamela (Sebring) Burgess. Jason was a 1991 graduate of Rossford High School. He would go on to become a father raising three daughters and one son.
Jason was an artist who enjoyed creating in a variety of ways. He expressed his artistic talents by painting, making music, and cooking. In addition to being an artist, he could be described as an outdoorsman who partook in hunting and camping, spending time in nature in such places as Salt Fork and Hocking Hills. Other passions of his included weightlifting, watching football and cheering for the Cleveland Browns, and caring for his dog. Jason was a good man and very tough person, something that he tried to extend to his children and raised them to stand up for themselves and be strong people, as he loved his children deeply. He also cared for his friends and would reach out to people who needed help or guidance as he enjoyed talking and sharing with his loved ones.
Left to cherish Jason’s memory are his children Jesecca (Sean) Pecina, Maggie Burgess, Charlee Burgess, and J Glenn Burgess; grandchild, Sophia Rorigi; significant other, Tonijo Boyd; mother, Pamela Burgess; sister, Jeannine (Keith) Czop; nieces, Abaegail and Lillian; nephews, Mathew and Christopher and bedside companion and canine pal, El Chapo. Preceding Jason in death are his father, Michael and cousin, Shaunda.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Burial will follow the service at North Oregon Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army and Lucas County Canine Care & Control.
