James Joseph Thomas

James Joseph Thomas age 54 of Rossford passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, February 5, 2023. James was born to Joseph and Dorothy (Butt) Thomas on August 6, 1968, in Toledo, Ohio. He was a 1986 graduate of Clay High School and received his HVAC certification. Jim worked maintenance for KRCH Realty. He was a generous, good-hearted, and kind person who loved to make people laugh. Jim always had a joke ready. He was a musician who played guitar in several area bands and a Steelers fan.

James is survived by his significant other Laurie Shasteen; siblings Ken (Judy Dudley) Thomas, Kevin (Sandi) Thomas, and Sandi Barr; nieces Stacey (Kyle) Babka and Kelley (David) Goralske; nephews Connor and Austin Barr; great-nieces and nephews Alex, Addy, Andrew, Seth and Noah; step-children Jake Shasteen and Shayna Shasteen; and step-grandson Drake Whitacre. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Steve Thomas.

A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 2 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will begin Friday with prayers at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. and continue with a Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church 212 N.
