JAMES L. THACKER
James L. Thacker, 80, of Walbridge, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born in Shoals, West Virginia on May 27, 1933 to Wetzel and Freda (Brumfield) Thacker and for 33 years worked as a Crane Operator retiring from Koppers. He was an avid skeet shooter and former National Fast Draw Champion. James enjoyed deer hunting and was a commercial fisherman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Blaylock) Thacker; children, Ricky (Debbie) Thacker, Joseph W. Brown, Rona Lockwood and Toni (John) Voigt; grandchildren, Erin, Angie, Dennise, Jemi, Jade, Gerald, Buddy and Jenny; 5 great-grandchildren and sister, Zonetta Estrell. James was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Tina; and son, Roy Thacker.
Family and friends may visit from 12-4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd., Oregon, where the funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
