James W. “Jim” McQuillen, 86, of Genoa, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. He was born on January 25, 1926 in Toledo, Ohio to Daniel and Mary Ellen (English) McQuillen. Jim served in the U.S. Army, during WWII as a paratrooper. He was employed at the Dana Corporation for Thirty Years until His retirement in 1986. Jim was a great Notre Dame fan and loved to travel. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, of 49 years, Virginia; children, Barbara Schoeneck, Patrick (Vicki) East, Bill (Terri) East and Jan (Mike) Kosmyna; grandchildren, Chris Harrison, Andrew Schoeneck, Rachel Pniewski, Edward Schoeneck, Angie Kosmyna, Dave Kosmyna; 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 9 siblings.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. Oregon, Ohio on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, in Genoa at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
