James “Papa” Hymore

James Lee Hymore, 74, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020.  He was born on November 27, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio to William and Virginia Hymore.  Jim was a graduate of Macomber High School and worked for the Toledo Blade out of school as a type setter.  He later became an insurance agent for Western & Southern before venturing off on his own, owning rental properties and a bar in the Toledo area.   Jim was a self-taught piano player and enjoyed wood carving.  He also loved supporting the Toledo sports teams going to Mud Hens and Walleye games.

Jim is survived by his partner of 30 years, Mary Berkey; sons, William “Bill” Hymore and Wesley “Wes” Hymore, grandchildren, Brandon Hymore and Jessica (Tyler) Bol; twin great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Elouise Bol; sister, Judy Baril and many aunts, uncles and extended family members.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Billie Carol Halka.

Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd Oregon, OH 43616 on Monday, July 20, 2020 from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday in the funeral home at 11 a.m.  Funeral services will be live streamed on the Freck Funeral Chapel Facebook page.   Private burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Donor’s choice.
