James “Nutzie” Klorer, 64, of Curtice, Ohio passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011 at his home in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. He was born on November 16, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio to Steve Klorer and June Frazier Klorer. Jim served in the U.S. Navy and worked for 40 years with the Plumbers and Pipe fitters Local #50. He was a Captain for the Allen-Clay Joint Fire Dept. and a trustee for Allen Twp. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Harbor View Yacht Club and the Cooley Canal Yacht Club where he served as Commodore of C.C.Y.C. in 2010.
Jim is survived by his children: J.J. (Randy) Dively and Jim Klorer Jr., grandchildren: Dustin and Taylor Dively, James Klorer III and Stephen and Adelyn Simkus; father, Steve (Rosemary) Klorer; sister, Rose (Bill) Kusian and brother, Robert (Marge) Klorer as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, June; daughter, Joy Klorer-Simkus and brother, Jerry Klorer.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Freck Funeral Chapel Wynn at Pickle Rd. (419) 693-9304, on Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. where a memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Allen-Clay Joint Fire Dept. or Hospice of N.W. Ohio.
