James Peter Hamilton

James Peter Hamilton, age 87, of Toledo, OH, passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ebeid Residence surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. He was born in New York, NY to William and Mae (Duke) Hamilton on January 15, 1937. James grew up in the Bronx and later moved to the Toledo, Ohio area in 1974. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Later he worked as an accountant for several years. James was a quiet and happy man who always had a smile for everyone he met and was a friend of Bill W. He enjoyed all things music, especially country music and Frank Sinatra.

James leaves behind his loving wife, Robin Hamilton; his children, James (Mary Biller) Hamilton, Jerome (Olivia Bakes) Toska, and Nicholas (Dana Funk) Toska; his two grandchildren;  his siblings, Mary White, Patricia Alban, Robert Toner, and Billy Hamilton; brother-in-law, Neil Miller; and sister-in-law, Janice Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Paul Toner, Tom Toner, Janet Neff, and Anne Hamilton; and beloved dog, Gibbs.

A memorial service will be held at a later time. Arrangements entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel, Oregon, OH. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
