James "Jim" Gargac

James F. Gargac, age 69 passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Bay Park Community Hospital.  He was born on August 16, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio to Ernest and Justine Gargac.  Jim was a graduate of Lake High School.  He began his career to becoming a carpenter at the age of 15.  Jim could absorb knowledge like a human sponge.  He was a “Jack of All Trades” and could work on anything.  Jim was passionate about his work and loved to see a job to completion.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and even laughed at himself.  Jim restored his 37 Slantback Ford and enjoyed taking it to car shows.  He enjoyed estate sales and critiquing the construction of any building he entered.  Jim was a wonderful baker and cook.  He was an extremely animated person and will be dearly missed.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, June Gargac; sister-in-law, Janet Gargac; siblings, Sharon Wilson, Tim Gargac, Bill (Maria) Gargac, Deb (Chris) Tober, Dennis Gargac, Denise (Kevin) Jenne, Allen Gargac, Diane Frazier, Tami (Jeff) Smalldon, and Kevin (Lisa) Gargac, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces/nephews, great great-nieces/nephews; many of whom thought of him as “Dad” and many good friends and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brother, Donald Gargac.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 1-5:00 p.m. at Rossford Eagles 658 Lime City Road in Rossford.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Toledo Humane Society in memory of his beloved dog, “Harvey”.
