James Russell Delong

James Russell DeLong, age 68, of Toledo, OH, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022. He was born in Toledo, OH to Gene and Doris (Hauri) DeLong on December 16, 1953. James was a leader in the field of MRI and worked for many years as a CT technician. He enjoyed spending time on Lake Erie boating  and fishing. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

James is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; his children, Jennifer (Jonathan) Schafer, and James DeLong; his grandchildren, Evan (Danny Reuille) Schafer, and Addison Schafer; his great-grandchildren, Sawyer Schafer, and Cayden Schafer; and his siblings, Donna DeLong, and Joanne (Larry) Brewer. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may visit the  Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 12:00 p.m. James will be laid to rest at Troy Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
