James "Jim" Daniels

November 12, 1935 — July 19, 2018

James M. Daniels, 82, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center.  He was born on November 12, 1935 to Everett and Ruie Daniels.  Jim served in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean War.  He worked as a master mechanic and was the head of the safety committee for Kaiser Aluminum, retiring after 22 years.  Prior to Kaiser Aluminum, Jim worked in law enforcement as a deputy for the Lucas County Sheriff’s Department and at one time was the Chief of Police in Elmore.  Jim served as a United Steelworker Stewart and Boy Scout Leader for many years.  He was a member of the Masons, the Wolf Creek Sportsmen Club and the N.R.A. where he was an Instructor.

Jim is survived by his children, Cindy Burling, James Daniels Jr. and Joe (Tina) Daniels; grandchildren, Miriah (Johnny) Davis, Michael (Amanda) Toth and Nathan Daniels; great-grandchildren, Nick, Sam and Lynden; siblings, Everett (Ruth Ann) Daniels, Joe (Joyce) Daniels and Lowell (Charlene) Daniels and many extended family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Eleanor and daughter, Linda.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, from 10-1 p.m. where services will be held at 1 p.m.  Burial will follow at N. Oregon Cemetery.
