Jack E. Hiner, 68, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital.  He was born on January 15, 1950 in Toledo to Jack and Patricia Hiner.  Jack was a graduate of Ida High School and served 2 tours in Vietnam as a member of the U.S. Air Force.  He would like to thank Dow Chemical for contracting Agent Orange.  Jack was an athlete his whole life playing until the age of 60.  He was a basketball and volleyball coach for many years and coached the St. Stephen’s boys’ basketball team.  Jack was a second father to many and loved spending time with his family.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing and duck hunting.  In his spare time, he collected stamps and coins and was an amateur photographer.  He will be dearly missed.

Jack is survived by his children:  Jason (Carey) Hiner and Laura (Randy) Hiner; granddaughter, Josephine; significant other, Suzanne Dennis; brother, Dan (Angel) Hiner; mother-in-law, Berna Limpf; sister-in-law, Karen Ackerman; brothers-in-law, Gary (Karen) Limpf, John Limpf and Dave (Jeannie) Limpf; k-9 companion, BoBo and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by parents; wife, Mary and sister, Mary.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, from 1-6 p.m. where services will be held at 6 p.m.  Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
