Jack Flatt, age 93, of Genoa, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30, 2023 at home surrounded by family. He was born on May 12, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Anna Flatt. Jack was a graduate of Macomber High School and proudly served as a sergeant in the United States Army. He was in the 31st Dixie Division stationed in Fort Jackson and Fort Bragg. Jack married his wife, Carole on October 18, 1953, and together they started their family. He worked as an Accident Investigator and Motor Equipment Technician for the City of Toledo, retiring after 28 years. Jack enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, traveling, and taking camping trips. He was a member of the Genoa American Legion Post #0324 and former member of RVYC.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Carole Flatt; children, Terrie Hoyle, Karen (Greg) Hazelton, Jill (Joe) Gears, and Jack (Diana) Flatt; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Phyllis Flatt. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Flatt; sister, Phyllis (Del) Hacker; and great-grandson, Nevan Jones.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 2-8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to The Healing Barn 27731 Bradner Rd. Millbury, Ohio 43447.
