Irene H. Szanto, 86, of Toledo passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Lutheran Home at Toledo. She was born April 5, 1926 in Toledo to Martin and Mary (Skolla) Szanto and was a graduate of Waite High School. For over 40 years, Irene worked as a decorator for Libbey Glass and was an active member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church where she helped cook and serve at various functions. She loved cooking, baking, reading and travelling.
Irene is survived by her brothers, Steve M. and John M. Szanto and was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Oregon, Ohio on Saturday, December 8, 2012 where the Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Byzantine Church.
