Iren Soltesz, age 84 of Oregon passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. She was born on January 17, 1928 in Napkor, Hungary. She married Miklos Soltesz in Napkor, Hungary before coming to the United States. Iren was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church. Iren enjoyed donating her time and her wonderful baked goods to bingo nights at St. Michael’s Hall. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.
Iren was preceded in death by her husband; Miklos Soltesz, her parents and her brother. She is survived by her children; Nick M. Soltesz, John (Joyce) Soltesz, Irene Rezbanyay, Mary Ann (Brian) McDaniel and Paul (Tricia) Soltesz, grandchildren; Megan (Jason) Gillette, Ann (Chris) Peters, Kyle McDaniel, Allison McDaniel, Luke Soltesz, Logan Soltesz and Jack Soltesz; great-grandson, Mason Gillette.
Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 2-8 p.m. with Parastas Service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by The Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial Service held in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church or American Heart Association.
